Part 1

Before You Begin

A few reassurances before you open the app

You are holding this guide because you want to understand what TheJourneyOf.Life is before you open it. That is exactly the right instinct. Take your time with these pages. There is no rush.

Three things we want you to know before anything else.

  1. 1.You cannot break anything. Everything you do in TheJourneyOf.Life can be changed, updated, or undone. If you type something and want to delete it — delete it. If you upload a document and change your mind — remove it. If you are not sure what a button does — tap it and see. The worst that will happen is that you see something unexpected, and you can always go back.
  2. 2.You do not have to do everything at once. TheJourneyOf.Life has many parts. You do not need to use all of them today, this week, or even this month. The most important thing you can do in your first session is one thing: record a short message for someone you love. Everything else can come later. We will be here.
  3. 3.There is a real person at the other end of this platform. If you get stuck, confused, or frustrated at any point, email us at support@helixa.life. We respond the same day. You will hear back from a real person — not an automated reply — who is there to help you.

What TheJourneyOf.Life Is

What this platform does and why it was built

TheJourneyOf.Life is one organized place for your complete life. Most people keep their important information spread across many different places. Bank documents in a filing cabinet. Insurance papers in a drawer somewhere. Passwords written on a piece of paper. Family medical history remembered but never written down. Photos scattered across phones and old computers.

When something happens — when a family member needs to find something, or when you are no longer able to help them find it — that scattered information becomes a months-long search through drawers and filing cabinets and old email accounts.

TheJourneyOf.Life is what changes that. It is the one place where everything lives: your financial accounts, your important documents, your family history, your wishes, and — most uniquely — the messages you most want to leave for the people you love.

What makes TheJourneyOf.Life different from anything else

There are apps for budgeting, apps for storing passwords, apps for writing a will. TheJourneyOf.Life does all of those things — but more importantly, it connects them. The document you upload becomes part of your organization score. The contact you add becomes the person who receives your message. Every action you take makes the whole picture more complete.

TheJourneyOf.Life was also built with one promise that no other platform makes: the messages you record for people you love will be delivered, even if TheJourneyOf.Life as a company is no longer operating. There is a separate legal fund set aside specifically for this purpose. Your messages are safe. They will reach the people you intended them for.

Who built TheJourneyOf.Life and why

TheJourneyOf.Life was founded because of something witnessed repeatedly: the organizational chaos that follows a death that was not anticipated. Families spending months trying to find documents. Accounts nobody knew about. Insurance policies paid faithfully for decades that nobody could locate. Messages that were always meant to be sent and never were.

This platform was built for the afternoon most people keep meaning to find. The one where they were going to get everything organized. TheJourneyOf.Life makes that afternoon possible — and it makes sure the work you do in that afternoon lasts.

Part 3

Your First 30 Minutes

A gentle walk through getting started, step by step

This section walks you through your first session in TheJourneyOf.Life, step by step. Read the whole section first if you like, then open the app and follow along. Or open the app now and read each step as you go. Either way works perfectly.

Getting to TheJourneyOf.Life

Open your internet browser — the app you use to visit websites. This might be called Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge depending on your device. In the address bar at the top, type: helixa.life — then press Enter or Go. The TheJourneyOf.Life website will open.

Helpful tip: You can also save TheJourneyOf.Life to your phone's home screen so it opens like an app. On iPhone: tap the Share button (the box with an arrow pointing up) and then tap 'Add to Home Screen.' On Android: tap the three dots in the corner and tap 'Add to Home Screen.'

Creating Your Account

  1. 1.Tap 'Get Started' or 'Sign Up' — you will see a button on the TheJourneyOf.Life front page. Tap it.
  2. 2.Enter your email address — this is the email address you check regularly. TheJourneyOf.Life will use it to communicate with you and to deliver messages you schedule.
  3. 3.Create a password — choose a password that is at least 12 characters long. A good password might be three words you can remember put together, like 'BlueGardenMorning' — easy for you to remember, hard for anyone else to guess. Write it down somewhere safe.
  4. 4.Confirm your email — TheJourneyOf.Life will send a confirmation email to the address you provided. Open that email and click the link inside. This confirms that you own the email address.
  5. 5.Set up two-step verification — TheJourneyOf.Life will ask you to set up an extra layer of security. This means that when you log in, you will enter your password AND receive a short code on your phone. This protects your account even if someone guesses your password. Follow the on-screen instructions — it only takes about two minutes to set up.

Your First Ten Minutes Inside TheJourneyOf.Life

Once your account is created, TheJourneyOf.Life will guide you through a short welcome sequence. Here is what to expect at each stage.

  1. 1.The Welcome Screen — 'You have just done something most people keep putting off.' That is the first thing you will see. Read it. It is true. Tap Begin when you are ready.
  2. 2.Record a message for someone you love — this is the most important step, and we ask you to do it first, before anything else. You will be asked to record a short message, 30 seconds or so, for someone you care about. It can be video, audio only, or written. You choose when it is delivered: a specific date, a birthday, a graduation, a wedding, or after you are gone. You can change this later. Take a moment with this. It does not need to be perfect. It just needs to be yours.
  3. 3.Add the person you recorded the message for — add their name, your relationship to them, and their email address. This is how your message will find them when the time comes.
  4. 4.Your profile — add your name, your date of birth, and a photo if you have one. None of this is required right now — you can always add it later.
  5. 5.Upload one important document — this might be your will, an insurance policy, or a bank statement. You can photograph it with your phone camera or upload a file. If you are not sure, you can skip this for now.
  6. 6.Connect a financial account (optional) — TheJourneyOf.Life can connect to your bank or investment accounts to show your complete financial picture. Completely optional; tap 'Skip for now' if you'd rather not.
  7. 7.Your Life Score — at the end of your first session, you will see your Life Score, a number from 0 to 1,000. It just went up because of what you did in the last ten minutes.
  8. 8.The Welcome Letter — finally, TheJourneyOf.Life will show you a letter from the founding team explaining what you have just joined and what TheJourneyOf.Life promises to do for you.

Helpful tip: You can skip the message-recording step and come back to it later. But we gently encourage you not to. Most people who record their first message say it was the most meaningful thing they did in TheJourneyOf.Life — and they wish they had done it sooner.

That is your first session. It took about ten minutes and you have already done something most people never do: you have started.

Part 4

The Eight Things TheJourneyOf.Life Can Do For You

Each section of the platform explained simply

TheJourneyOf.Life has eight different sections, each doing something different to help you organize your life. You do not need to use all of them right away. Read through this section to understand what each one does, then start with the one that feels most useful to you.

1.

Financial Intelligence

See your complete financial picture in one place.

What it does: When you connect your bank accounts, investment accounts, or retirement savings to TheJourneyOf.Life, it shows you everything together: how much you have, how much you owe, and how your finances are doing overall. It also provides a personalized insight — something specific about your financial situation you may not have noticed.

Why it matters: Right now, most people have their money spread across many institutions. TheJourneyOf.Life brings it all together so you can see the complete picture for the first time.

Try this first: Go to the Financial section and tap 'Connect an Account.' Follow the steps to link one bank or investment account. You do not have to connect all of them at once.

Life Vault

Store your important documents somewhere safe and findable.

What it does: The Life Vault is your secure filing cabinet inside TheJourneyOf.Life. You can store your will, insurance policies, property documents, passports, medical records, and any other important papers. You can photograph physical documents with your phone camera, and TheJourneyOf.Life will automatically organize them by type.

Why it matters: When something happens to you, your family will need to find your important documents. The Life Vault means everything is in one place, organized, and findable — even if you are not there to help find it.

Try this first: Go to Life Vault and tap 'Add a Document.' Photograph one important document — perhaps your most recent bank statement or an insurance card.

3.

Security Vault

Store your passwords and digital access information safely.

What it does: The Security Vault is the place to store passwords, account numbers, and any other access information you would not want to lose. This information is protected with the strongest encryption available, meaning it is scrambled so completely that not even TheJourneyOf.Life can read it.

Why it matters: When people die without leaving access information, families face a serious problem: bank accounts, email accounts, and photo storage can become permanently inaccessible. The Security Vault means access is available to the right people at the right time.

Try this first: Go to Security Vault and add one password or account number. Give it a label so you know what it is.

4.

Private Journal

Write privately, knowing no one else can read what you write.

What it does: The Private Journal is exactly what it sounds like: a personal journal. What makes it different is that it is protected so completely that not even TheJourneyOf.Life can read your entries.

Why it matters: Some people use the journal to process difficult experiences, record family stories, or write letters to people they love. Whatever you write here is private, permanent, and protected.

Try this first: Go to Private Journal and write something — even just a sentence or two.

5.

Family Records

Preserve your family's history for the people who come after you.

What it does: Family Records is where you store the information about your family that is so easy to lose: medical histories, biographical information, family stories, important dates, immigration documents, military service records. You can create a profile for each family member and link them together.

Why it matters: Family medical history is something every doctor asks about — and most people cannot answer completely. Family Records is where that information lives so it is never lost.

Try this first: Go to Family Records and create a profile for yourself. Add your date of birth, a few important health facts, and one family story you would like preserved.

6.

Legacy and Estate

Get organized for the people who will need to manage things after you are gone.

What it does: This section helps you do the things most people know they should do but keep putting off: naming an executor, making sure your will is current, reviewing who receives your accounts, and creating an Emergency Sheet your family can use when they need it.

Why it matters: When someone dies without an organized estate, their family faces a legal and administrative process that can take years. The Estate section helps you prevent that.

Try this first: Go to Estate Center and look at your Estate Readiness Score. It shows you which of the ten most important estate items you have completed and which still need attention.

7.

Time Capsule

Leave messages for the people you love, delivered at the moment you choose.

What it does: The Time Capsule lets you record a message — video, audio, or written — and schedule it to be delivered at a specific moment: a grandchild's graduation, a child's wedding day, or after you are gone.

Why it matters: There are things most of us mean to say and never quite find the moment for. The Time Capsule gives you the moment.

Try this first: If you have not yet recorded your first Time Capsule, go there now. Record something for one person. It does not need to be long. It just needs to be real.

8.

Connections

Keep track of the people who matter most.

What it does: Connections is your address book inside TheJourneyOf.Life. Each person you add has a name, a relationship to you, contact details, and important dates. This is also where you designate your executor and healthcare proxy.

Why it matters: TheJourneyOf.Life uses your Connections to deliver your Time Capsule messages. Without the contact information stored, a message cannot reach its intended person.

Try this first: Go to Connections and add the people most important to you: spouse or partner, children, grandchildren, your executor if you have named one.

Part 5

Your Life Score

What it is and why it goes up

Your Life Score is a number from 0 to 1,000 that appears on your home screen every time you open TheJourneyOf.Life. It measures how organized and protected your life is for the people who depend on you. Think of it not as a grade — but as a measure of the gift you are giving your family.

How the Life Score is calculated

Your Life Score is made up of four parts, each worth up to 250 points:

  • Financial Health (up to 250 points) — how complete your financial picture is, whether your accounts are connected and visible.
  • Life Organization (up to 250 points) — how many of your important documents are stored and organized in your Life Vault.
  • Legacy Readiness (up to 250 points) — how prepared your estate is: executor named, will reviewed, beneficiary designations checked.
  • Family Security (up to 250 points) — whether you have life insurance documented, family records stored, and a Time Capsule message recorded.

How your Life Score goes up

Every time you take an organizational action in TheJourneyOf.Life, your Life Score increases. Upload a document — it goes up. Name your executor — it goes up. Record a Time Capsule message — it goes up. Review your beneficiary designations — it goes up.

You do not need to reach 1,000. Any increase means your family is better protected than they were before. Even a score of 200 means you have done more than most people ever do.

Helpful tip: The home screen shows you exactly what you can do to increase your Life Score. Look for the section called 'What to do next' — it shows your three most impactful next steps.

Part 6

The Time Capsule in Detail

How to leave a message for someone you love

The Time Capsule is the most unique and most personal feature in TheJourneyOf.Life. This section explains exactly how it works so you can use it with confidence.

What you can record

  • Video message — record yourself speaking directly to the person, using your phone or computer camera. The most personal option — they will see your face and hear your voice.
  • Audio message — record your voice without video. A good option if you are not comfortable on camera or your device has no camera.
  • Written message — type your message. A good option if you prefer writing, or have something lengthy you want to express carefully.

When you can schedule delivery

  • A specific date — any date in the future: a birthday five years from now, an anniversary, a date that holds meaning.
  • A life event — something like 'when this person graduates' or 'on their wedding day.' Set this as a trigger you activate when the moment comes.
  • After I am gone — delivered when the Guardian Protocol is activated: when your designated guardian confirms your passing and begins managing your account.

How delivery works

When the delivery moment arrives, the person you addressed receives your message by email and, if you have added their mobile number, by text message too. If they are a TheJourneyOf.Life member, they also receive it inside the app.

The email they receive does not feel like a notification from a technology company. The subject line reads: 'A message from [your name] — left for this moment.' Your message is the first thing they see. Everything else is secondary.

The delivery guarantee

TheJourneyOf.Life maintains a separate legal fund called the Time Capsule Delivery Obligation Fund. This fund exists for one purpose: to ensure that every scheduled message is delivered, even if TheJourneyOf.Life as a company is no longer operating. The fund cannot be used for anything else. It cannot be claimed by creditors. Your messages are safe.

Helpful tip: When you save a Time Capsule, TheJourneyOf.Life shows you a receipt with a reference number and timestamp. You can save this as a PDF — proof that your message was stored and will be delivered.

Part 7

Your Safety and Privacy

How TheJourneyOf.Life protects everything you store

You are storing some of the most important and private information of your life in TheJourneyOf.Life. You deserve to know exactly how it is protected.

How your information is protected

Military-grade encryption

What it does: Every document, account detail, and record stored in TheJourneyOf.Life is scrambled using the same level of protection governments use for their most sensitive classified information — AES-256 encryption. It would take longer than the age of the universe to crack it by guessing.

Your most private content is protected even from TheJourneyOf.Life

What it does: Your Personal Journal entries and Security Vault credentials are protected by zero-knowledge encryption. Your information is scrambled on your device before it ever reaches TheJourneyOf.Life's servers. Even TheJourneyOf.Life cannot read it — not because we have decided not to, but because it is mathematically impossible. This is a technical fact, not a policy that could be changed quietly. Time Capsule messages are encrypted at rest with a dedicated key instead, since they must remain readable by a future recipient who has no pre-shared key with you.

Two-step login

What it does: When you log in to TheJourneyOf.Life, you need both your password and a code sent to your phone. Even if someone learned your password, they could not access your account without also having your phone.

Regular independent security checks

What it does: Every three months, TheJourneyOf.Life hires an outside security company to try to find weaknesses in the platform. The results are published publicly at helixa.life/trust.

What TheJourneyOf.Life promises about your information

TheJourneyOf.Life has made seven specific promises about your information, written into the company's founding legal documents, not just its terms of service:

  • You own every piece of your information. Always.
  • You can download everything you have stored at any time, in one tap.
  • You can delete your account and everything in it within 24 hours.
  • TheJourneyOf.Life will never sell your information to anyone.
  • TheJourneyOf.Life will never show you advertising.
  • Your most private content cannot be read even by TheJourneyOf.Life.
  • If there is ever a security incident, TheJourneyOf.Life will tell you within 72 hours.

Helpful tip: Inside the app, go to Settings > Security and Privacy > 'What Can TheJourneyOf.Life See?' This shows you exactly which information TheJourneyOf.Life can access and which it cannot. We think transparency about this is important.

Common Questions

Answers to things people often wonder

What if I make a mistake?

Everything in TheJourneyOf.Life can be changed or deleted. If you upload the wrong document, you can remove it. If you record a Time Capsule message and change your mind, you can delete it or record a new one. If you add incorrect information, you can edit it. You cannot permanently break anything.

What if I forget my password?

On the login screen, tap 'Forgot your password?' TheJourneyOf.Life will send a reset link to your email address. Click the link and follow the steps to create a new password. If you have trouble, email support@helixa.life and we will help you.

Is it safe to store my bank account information here?

When you connect a bank account through TheJourneyOf.Life, we use a secure service called Plaid to make the connection — the same service used by major banks and financial institutions. TheJourneyOf.Life can read your account information to show you your financial picture, but it cannot move money or make transactions. Your bank credentials are never stored in TheJourneyOf.Life — they stay with Plaid, which has its own strict security.

What happens to my information if I pass away?

Your designated executor — the person you name in TheJourneyOf.Life to manage your account after you are gone — can activate the Guardian Protocol. This begins a verification process that takes 72 hours, after which your executor is given the access level you specified. Your Time Capsule messages begin delivering on their scheduled dates. Your family can find everything you organized for them.

What if I don't want my executor to see everything?

You control exactly what your executor can see. You can set different access levels for different people. Your most private content — your Personal Journal and Time Capsule messages — can only be read by the people you specify, if you specify anyone at all.

Can I use TheJourneyOf.Life on my phone and my computer?

Yes. TheJourneyOf.Life works on any device with an internet browser: phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. Your information is the same on all of them. You log in with the same email address and password wherever you are.

What does TheJourneyOf.Life cost?

TheJourneyOf.Life is currently available to founding members at $9.99 per month. This price is locked for life for founding members — it will never go up for you, regardless of what the price becomes for new members in the future. That is a legal commitment, not just a promise.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time with no penalty. Go to Settings > Account > Manage Subscription. Before you cancel, you can download all of your information in one tap so you keep everything you have stored.

What if I want to give TheJourneyOf.Life as a gift to someone I love?

TheJourneyOf.Life offers a Gift option for $249 one-time. You record a welcome message for the person you are giving it to, and they receive a pre-set account with your message waiting for them. It is available at helixa.life/gift.

I am not very comfortable with technology. Is this really for me?

Yes. TheJourneyOf.Life was built for everyone — including people who have never used a platform like this before. The language throughout the platform is plain and simple. There is a glossary that explains every term. There is this guide. And there is a real person at support@helixa.life who responds the same day. You are not alone in this.
